Vitamin C and cancer? The thought never crossed my mind that Vitamin C could help with putting an end to cancer. Maybe this is just the begining of a cure!!
Vitamin C is great, and luckily I love a lot of Vitamin C rich foods. My eighth grade social studies teacher overdosed on Vitamin C, or at least that’s what she said.

I like this video, I didn’t know that Vitamin C would help with curing infectious diease. I just thought it helped with easing the symptoms of colds. And can be use intervenious to help cure vascular dieasesnand Vitamin C can help with cancer. and is a detoxifier.
I didn’t know that Vitamin C could be found in certain veggies? I don’t want to sound ignorant, but I thought Vitamin C could only be found in citrus fruit, such as oranges and grapefruits; but according to the video, Vitamin C can be found in sweet red peppers and many fruits and veggies. It is water soluble and must be replaced daily. Vitamin C serves many different purposes , but the main thing is it provides the body with colagen to help heal wounds. Vitamin c is essential for tissue growth and repair. The highest concentrate of vitamin C are in strawberries, brocolli, oranges, and grapefruit. I also didn’t know that certain body types desired a certain amount of vitamin C daily. For instance, women need 75mg, men and pregnant women need 90 mg, and smokers and women that breast feed need 120mg. I didn’t know that these certain foods served such an important purpose. I need to start eating better, and taking my vitamins daily. I learn something new daily in this class.
I’m a little humored by the fact that we’ve always known to link Vitamin C with an orange and all along I never knew sweet red peppers held two times more than an orange. I also found it interesting that smokers need more Vitamin C. I didn’t know how good Vitamin C played a role in fighting infections.
I was always taught to drink orange juice during colds for Vitamin C, but the lady said that modern studies are questioning that. I didnt know that peppers had more than oranges. If it does help with cancer, I’m all for it!!!!
Vitamin C an antioxident? hmm I never knew that. I know my grandma always made me drink orange juice when I had a cold, because it helps your immune system but i didn’t realize all of the other things if does for your body. I think we should all have more vitamin C in our diets, especially if it helps to prevent cancer.
Whenever I had a cold, sinus, or allergy problem my dad would say take vitamin C. Although I didn’t understand then, I do now. Since I hate taking pills,I will be eating alot of strawberries from my grandma’s garden (lol).
Fortunately I like to eat strawberries and grapefruit to receive my daily dose of vitamin C. I always thought that vitamin C would help prevent a person from getting a cold, however, this video states that this has not been yet been confirmed. The video also stated that vitamin C is not stored in the body therefor you can not overload on this vitamin.
My comment will go along with the vitamin D video. There is so much that can be prevented with taking good vitamins and the government should realize these things to better the quality of life to all people and as I mentioned before I am wanting to go to the first store available and get me a multivitamin.
I am just fascinated by the importance of vitamins! I feel so naive. I tended to think taking supplements was hogwash, unnecessary. I figured as long as you were eating a balanced diet, you were getting enough. I buy multi-vitamins but never take them or if I do, it’s never consistantly, so I never saw the effects. I, for sure, always think of oranges when I think of vitamin C. However, I am happy they are in red peppers and broccoli, because I love those, as do my son and hubby. I wonder why it is if we are finding out more and more about the benifits of vitamins, that more is not being made more public?
The foods listed in the video that contain high levels of vitamin C were definitely something new to me. I always thought oranges and grapefruits were the best source of natural vitamin C but the foods listed like peppers and such are definitely things we should try to eat more of.
These videos are very informative. Vitamin C helps fight colds and also has antioxidant and detox properties. Eating citrus fruits is a good way to obtain Vitamin C if supplements aren’t desired.
I am learning a lot about Vitamans that I had no idea about.
I used to take vitaman c when I was a child but did’nt really know why I just liked it because it was sour. and Strawberries were my favorite I don’t do much of either now I need to because it will help to build the imune system
as well has prevent unwanted things such as a cold or even help prevent cancer. I am really glad now that I have had a chance to take this class and get info that I never had before.
I did not know that Vitamin C was an antioxidant and a detoxifier. I was always told to some doses of Vitamin C to help fight a cold, but I did not know that it would also help fight a disease like cancer. We all should all increase our Vitamin C intake.
I did’nt know that it detoxified either. I think that it’s amazing how we could have a healthy America and we don’t even realize that it’s at our finger tips. Amazing is’nt it?
I was surprised to hear that vitamin C was an antioxidant ( the best) too. And pleasantly surprised to hear that it is a detoxifier. I had such a limited view on what all vitamin C can do. When it comes to fighting cance, I say do all that you can do, so if there is even a slight chance that increasing vitamin C might help..increase it. I feel so motivated to take my vitamins!
Vitamin C can sure be obtained through lots of food. I was always taught when I was little that oranges had the most vitamin C and now that I know red peppers and other foods have more I should try to eat more of those foods as well. I sure do love my orange juice though.
I don’t care for orange juice but I do like red peppers. I am going to start trying to use more of the other foods that are high in Vitamin C . I did not realize how important Vitamin C was for the body.
The research concerning vitamin C and cancer cells sounds very promising. This reiterites the need for or society to take in more citrus fruits and keep our diet high in vitamin C.
I agree we should do everything we can to stop cancer. Having had cancer my self I understand the need for prevention methods and anything we can do is worth it. If that means eating red peppers everyday then so be it.
I’m with you on that one. My mom has had cancer 3 times and whatever we can do to stop cancer is well worth it.
I think most people are undereducated about the importance of vitamin C in the body. After watching this video it just reinforces how important eating healthy is.
I agree with “SAF”. Regardless of what it was if there was a high chance of eating a certain thing could decress my chances or help fight the cancer I’d do it. Any little help is a big help to our bodies in the long run.
