really really interesting this is actually some of the things that we are learning in my A&P class so to see it all come together like that is really cool.
yup same here.. i learn a lot in my AP classes.. Im in a&p II right now.. it is really neat how everything in our bodies function.
I know right! I had A & P I and II last year and I used you tube videos a lot to really help me with the concepts because otherwise, it either wouldn’t make sense or I would get lost.
what a good idea! I am in A & P II now, and I never thought of using Youtube to help. Seeing the animations really does help it to sink in. Thanks!
i completely agree it does help everything fall into place after taking A&P.
I completely agree!I I took A&P I and II last year and the videos were VERY helpful because seeing a visual of the digestion process is much easier for most people to comprehend than reading the words straight from the book and picturing it in your head.
Yes i deffidently agree seeing it all work together certainly brings it all together in your head.
Yes seeing the video does help you visualize it more.
I have already took A&P 1 and am currently taking A&P 2. I never thought about using videos from the internet to help me learn how things work but i definately have to agree it does. Thanks for the advice and i can take advantage of that in my current class and classes to come.
video is interesting.. Its always neat to see what all goes on in our stomaches especially when we eat and its amazing how we dont always feel the digestion process.. I mean we can tell when we are hungry, but i think its cool that our bodies do so much and we dont have to sit here and think or tell our bodies what to do. ^_^
I agree completley, the whole system is automated no need for the brain to waste power or time on it leaving us plenty of time to worry about things that are time critical or important.
There are so many things that have to have my attention that I’m sure many days my food would never get digested. Talk about multitasking, this body we live in is a masterpiece.
I think it is neat to see what goes on in our body, to see how our stomach really works. I think it is cool that all that goes on and we don’t even realize how much work has really been put into digesting our food.
for the most part I really already knew most of what these videos have told me i just didnt know the proper names for them so i would have to say that this video was kinda boring but i did learn all the proper names so that was good
I basically already knew all the information as well but it really does help to have a little refresher of the organs and where they are at and what exactly they do!
Yes I agree. But another thing thats really interesting is that people really devote their lives to give this information to us. Just imagine how much time went into figuring out how the digestion process works.. I give major kudos to those that do that for us and all we have to do is watch a freaking YouTube video.
I agree…. I have been saying chyme the wrong way, so it was good to watch this.
I totally agree….pretty boring!! Although I wish I would of watched these videos when I was in A&P I and II.
I too knew a lot of the information, but it was still nice to see it on the videos
Wow! First of all, I really enjoyed how each video had something unique to show about digestion. For example, one video basically showed what organs did what function and another video showed how the body breaks up certain things and didn’t really show the names and where what organs are. Now for the real comment, I think it is so complex and amazing how are bodies know exactly what to do with what substances all without us having to think about it!
I have always been fanscinated by the human body. How we don’t even really know what is going on inside our bodies, but yet we function everyday and even while we sleep.
interesting. I didn’t know that proteins were digested in the stomach, fats in the small intestines, and carbs begin digesting in the mouth.
Me either. I really found all of this to be very interesting. In my mind, I was thinking everything goes to the stomach and is digested the moved on for elimination. Good educating videos.
this really helped me understand the diegstive system better i wish i would have watched this viedo while i was taking A&P I and II. It would have help me alot.
I agree, during A&P this would have been very helpful. It does put everything in a better understanding and is still beneficial while I’m still in school for the medical profession.
I feel that these videos would have definatley been useful to me when I was taking my A&P classes. I am a visual learner and these were some great videos.
Very informative. I think it enhances learning to visualize what our bodies are actually doing. I also think it is amazing how the body automatically works without our awareness of what it needs to do.
I never knew that bile was produced in the liver. I’ve always thought that the stomach or the large intestine produced it.
The liver does a lot for our bodies! The live produces the bile while the gallbladder stores it.
I really really enjoyed these videos. It was so interesting to see firsthand how the body process food. I had no idea about the bodies reaction to moving the food from the mouth into the esophagus. So captivating I just had to share with others. Being educated in this process I think also helps one be more mindful of what you are putting in your body.
For the most part i already knew most of the things this video was showing, I have to admit though it still is interesting to see how it all comes together. Also, with the saliva I didn’t know it played that big a role in the digestion process.
I’m with you, I knew most of this but its always better to see it visually. And yes, saliva (amylase) is an enzyme. Its helps break down food in order to help the process of digestion
I have to agree with you I had no idea that saliva played a part in digestion. It is very interesting how it break down food and helps digestion.
These videos were interesting. I learned about how different foods are used in different parts of the body…especially in the third one. I didnt know that your food went through so much…
I didnt realize it went through so much either! I definitely learned something there haha
I liked seeing the body in “action” & I have been been saying chyme the wrong way so it was good to watch and learn.
It is very interesting to see how digestion actually works. We have been learning about this in my A&P class, so I was familiar with most of this. There were a few things I didnt know. I guess I didnt realize that it actually took that much the digest food in the third video.
I like videos like this because its always so much easier to understand what happens when you can see it visually!
Me, too! I am a visual learner, and it really helps to watch the process. I really never think about what is going on in my body; it just does its job naturally. It is quite amazing to see how God designed us in such an awesome way!
I think the videos were a great review of A&P. I am a visual learner and think the 2nd and 3rd were way more interesting and beneficial for visual learners. I think they were great and way better than looking at a picture of digestion.
Yup……this was A&P all over again. The third video was my favorite because it explained where each nutrient was digested.
I enjoyed all 3 videos and thought they were very informative. The first two were more of a reminder but the third was mostly new to me. I thought everything was digested first through the small intestine. I had no clue that the amalayse in saliva broke up/digested carbohydrated and proteins in the stomach instead of the small intestine.
These videos were very helpful for me. I’m a visual learner and understanding the digestion process is much easier by watching a video rather than reading it from the textbook.
I totally agree. Reading is one thing because it is usually not as graphic but to see it in action is a whole new game.
The videos were interesting and helpful because it refreshed mt memory of some of the things i learned in AP. For example; proteins were digested in the stomach, fats in the small intestines, and carbs begin digesting in the mouth.
All three videos were very informative. I was planning on eating a good steak dinner tonight but now Im going to pass. I knew that it how the digestive system worked but never say a video that broke it down so well. The videos were good because you can read information but to see the information is better.
Very interesting video. I have been studying this in Medical Terminology and A&P. It is really cool to actually see it in a video considering I am a visual learner
The second video was more in line with the studies I’m taking now but all of them were understandable and illustrated what goes after are plates are clean. I like that each stop on the way has a specific part in the breakdown of the whole.
I have already taken A&P I,II so I felt like I already understood this process, but I can see this helping others or this being a good video to show while teaching this. It put it all together for sure.
I agree. If you’ve already had AP classes, this is not knew information, but I do see how it would be helpful for someone just learning about the digestive system.
I like the way the video gives demostrations of how the digestive system works. I knew a lot of the information but the video was helpful
I feel the videos were a good refresher, but were all things I already have learned in AP classes and in my paramedic classes.
Totally agree. I’ve learned this stuff in a few different classes.
I honestly liked the video of how the digestive system works. I had a class along time ago that told us about the process but to actually see it gives me a greater sense of what it truely is. I believe our bodies are truely amazing, how it works and how everything in it has its own function and purpose.
Its amazing how our digestive system works because we dont really have to tell it or command it; it naturally does it on its on self.
I had no idea so much went into the digestion of food. Its honestly kind of yucky to me. Now that i know how it works everytime i eat im gonna think of how my food is being digested. Yuck!
Yes it is quite yucky, but at the same time it is very helplful to know what exactly goes on in the body.
I like hearing about the process of the digestive process. I think it is pretty intresting how the body absorbs things you eat for many different uses.
To see what happens to our food during digestion is amazing. I had somewhat of a clue as to what went on in the digestive system, but I had no idea as to every detail that goes on when we eat and how the foods we eat digest. There is a lot of work our digestive system does to process our foods. These are great videos to watch to learn about what goes on inside the body.
I pretty much knew all of this stuff so boring video. Reminds me of the old-school educational videos made in the seventies.
Yea..In a way it was cool..But Boring..Ive heard about this for years in different classes..Just neat to actually see it on the video..
Ha! You are funny. Are you old enough to remember the seventies?
Very interesting. Since having my gallbladder out I have a real hard time with my digestive system. I have to take digestive enzymes almost on a daily basis. They help. I never knew that amalyse starts the digestion process in the mouth. The supplement that I take has all the enzymes mentioned in the last video. So what part of my digestive system isn’t producing the enzymes that I need? For a long time I couldn’t even eat lettuce without being doubled over in pain.
very interesting video on how the body functions
It was a good reminder of were different the foods break down; makes me wonder why: potatoes and carbs start breaking down in the mouth and why proteins do most of their breaking down in the stomach????
Well…This certainly does make AP alot interesting..The Videos atleast..Good to see also how your body works as well..Pretty neat..Just to think If one thing in our body stops working or has a malfunction…No telling what would happen during digesting food.
I thought that this video was very interesting. It is amazing what processes our body has to go through just to digest the smallest amount of food. The animation was great and really helped show each step and what happens there before moving on to the next step.
Those were great videos. I did not know fat is primarily digested in the small intestine. I didn’t know how to pronounce chyme either, I had it all wrong. Sometimes simple teaching is the best way. Short and to the point.
I sure didnt know that certain foods digest in different parts of the body. I thought everything begins in the mouth but learned foods such as protein are mostly digested in the stomach and fats in the small intestines. I also didnt know the large intestines manufactures the vitamins and distributes it to the blood.
It is cool to see what happens to our food after we swallow. Being able to see the way food is broke down and digested is amazing.
the digestive system isnt just after we swallow our food its aso before.
I found all three of these very informative. I wish I would have watched them before I took my quiz! I like the way that it shows how carbs are digested first, then proteins(in the stomach), and lastly fats. It helps you understand why it is important to base your meals on starchy foods.
I agree I wish I would of watched them first too. It made a lot more since.
So, when the stomach fills with hydrochloric acid, is that the bloated sensation you feel?
I just got done reading a chapter on digestion and absorption in my nurtirition book, but these videos explain it a lot better than just reading it in the book. It kind of breaks it down better for you.
The way the body works is so cool to me! Each part of your body has a distinct function! The amylase in your saliva begins the chemical breakdown where as the mastication begins the physical break down. Already knowing the anatomy and physiology of the body, it’s still cool to watch it through a video! I wish I would have seen these videos two years ago!
I too wish I would have seen these earlier. Our bodys are such well oiled machines, and if we would take care of them like we should I do not believe we would have the sickness we have now.
I think it amazing how the body works we are reading about the same stuff in my nutrition class but this is a lot better than reading.
I agree it is amazing how the body works. I am also in nutrition class and these video’s are very helpful.
It is so much easier to understand how the digestive system works when viewing it on video. It just makes more sense.
I’m a scrub tech at my local hospital, and we do colon resection, but I had no idea how the digestive system works. I know what surgical tools my doctor needs, but I did not fully understand how food travels or the enzymes needed to break down the food.
The digestive system is such an amazing process. I have learned this in my medical terminology class, but i still like watching the videos because when i see the process actually happening it is easier to understand.
As I was watching this, I thought, “And this all takes 1-3 days to complete.”
Oh how I wish I would have found these in A&P. We had to watch some in the library, but usually the examples were shown on cadavers, and it was harder for me to see where/what things were.
These videos wher very helpful. I learn better with visual aids rather rthan reading and this has helped so much. Each video is well worth watching. the digestion system is so complex on how everthing works together and at the exact time it need to. It is so amazing.
I actually just studied about this in A & P and I’m a very visual learner so I google and you tube videos like this all the time. Wish I would have watch this last week. ha ha
