Tips for Healthy Eating on the Go

Know what to look for on nutrition fact label

  • Look at first ingredient
  • Avoid buying products with sugar or corn syrup as first ingredient
  • Look for whole grain cereals, at least 3 g of fiber per serving

Plan ahead with healthy snacks

  • To avoid unhealthy temptations, have your own:
  • Tuna and cracker pack, whole grain cereal bar, fruits fresh and dried

Cook your own meals at home

  • Avoid high sodium frozen meals
  • Use a Crockpot to cook ahead

Drink water through the day

  • 8 glasses per day
  • Add low calorie, low sugar drink mix such as Crystal Light
  • Drink low sodium V-8, unsweetened fruit juices, herbal tea

Strive for a balanced diet

  • No bad food just bad diet
  • You can have fast foods, chocolate once in a while
  • Moderation is the key in eating healthy
