I think I’ll have to make my husband watch this video. I didn’t know that ginger makes you sweat…..

Yes I think my husband needs to watch it also. my husbands eats nothing but fried foods, but never gains a pound, ugh! I didn’t know that about ginger either. I am also going to try it when I get sick. It might also be helpful to someone who is pregnant.

I had no idea ginger made you sweat either, and with how much I sweat already it makes me want to aviod it completely.

Just because someone eats junk food and they don’t gain weight, does not mean that it is not doing damage to the inside of their body. The junk in a lot of fast foods is extremely high in fat and sodium. This can increase your risk for a stroke. A stroke is considered a “silent killer”. It is silent because you don’t always see outside signs or symptoms, but only what is killing you is happening on the inside. I am sure we all have known a very thin person who has had a heart attack or stroke.

Wonderful video! Very informative and gave a great insight to how our bodies need to be healthy on the inside to look great on the outside. I grew up with my mother being an all organic vegetarian. So many of the Super Foods and their nutritional values were familiar to me, but I found myself listening a little bit closer and really taking in the information. Isn’t that how it goes. You hear the same things from your mother for years, but it sinks in just a little bit more when hearing it from someone else. Being pregnant I do know first hand Ginger is great for nausea. It does help.

Again thank you for the great video!

I took ginger like crazy during all 3 of my pregnancies, and it did help a bunch!

Reply

cford October 4, 2011 at 4:14 pm

Lucky :0) I took all different forms of ginger and it didn’t really help. I had to go to the doctor and get a prescription for nausea. It’s weird because it helped with my first child.

Reed T October 7, 2011 at 1:48 am

I wish I would have known that during my pregnancy …. no one told me.

TMann October 8, 2011 at 5:23 pm

I agree, although I would hear it from my nana. I like to eat healthy but some of the information I wasn’t aware of. I was so sick when I was pregnant, knowing about the benefit of ginger would have really helped.

The second video was very helpful. Some of these super foods I knew of but forget to eat, others were some I was not aware of. I have never tried butternut squash- that is something I would like to try. I always knew ginger was good for cold and flus, but did not know why. Also, I am now craving spinach =)

I agree with you. The first video was very cute and the second video I feel is very helpful to people who want to learn and know what foods are healthy for you and what foods aren’t. I too want to try butternut squash one day and for the spinach, it has to grow on me!

The first video is so cute, but makes a good point drinking water can keep you not only living younger, but also looking younger. The second video had me hooked. I am strugling with adult acne and have never had it before. I am looking forward to trying these things out, because yes I am guilty for eating fast food at 2am.

Reply

I have been known to leave a friends house and stop by taco bell late at night/early morning as well. I completely understand where you are coming from with the acne. I no longer have it but it is very difficult to deal with. I had it in my younger teenage years, but a very severe case! Best of luck!!

Overall, this was a good and informative video. However, I disagree with one point addressed in the video. First, I do not believe 2% or whole milk is inappropriate for good nutrition. Furthermore, I am sure they are recommending pasteurized and homogenized milk. Many holistic physicians, nutritionists, and naturalists are now recommending raw dairy products which contain the most enzymes and beneficial bacteria for even better health. Much of these enzymes and beneficial bacteria are lost during the pasteurization process. Raw milk from a good and clean dairy where cows or goats are properly cared for and allowed organic grass to graze and browse on is much more healthy than pasteurized and homogenized milk. I raise my own dairy goats, and I am sure the care I give my animals and the processing of the milk will stand up against any big milk corporation’s cleanliness policies. The lack of cleanliness and improper care of the sick animals is why they must pasteurize their milk.

I would remember the first video for the dancing babies, not the water that it is advertising. If I were to have a conversation with another friend and tell them about the advertisement, I would probably never mention or even be able to remember the name (Evian) of the water.
However, the second video was quite informative and focused mainly on just the foods at hand. No outside distractions, just the food that was being discussed. I was able to focus more on the immediate information. I think we have entirely to many distractions these days already. I will remember the second advertisement for specifics about the food and their nutritional and health benefits. I also realized that I would eat healthier if I had a chef to prepare these wonderful vegetables and foods!

Yes, we raise our dairy goats here in Arkansas. We absolutely love our raw dairy products, and I would not want to do with out it! Once you taste the fullness of untouched dairy, you won’t want anything else!

I love that first video, it’s super cute. The second video taught me a lot of stuff I didn’t know, most that many people probably already knew. I didn’t know that ginger helps with nausea or makes you sweat for that matter. I find it interesting that broccoli can be a substitute for non-milk drinkers. I love broccoli and milk and knock on wood I’ve never broke a bone in my body, maybe it has something to do with how much milk i drink and broccoli I eat. Also at the begining of the video I caught how fast food was cut out of the diet and the complection became better. I quit eating fast food about two months ago and before this video I never even noticed how my complection had cleared up.

I don’t eat fast food unless I get a vegetable sandwich from subway or a vegetable wrap from Arby’s. Yes, Arby’s will give you a whole grain wrap with vegetables on it! I am really interested in learning more about the health benifits of super foods. It’s interesting that no meats were listed, except for salmon. Pescatarianism really is the way to go.

Reply

CHANG GA September 4, 2011 at 11:33 am

I don’t think I could do just veggies when I’m at subway or Arbys. More power to you and I love it that you can go to a fast food place and eat healthy. I would love to do that, but I love eating chicken and curly fries. Nowadays eating healthy will definitely help us keep up with busy schedules and keep us energized enough to want to do anything. I drink cokes while I’m at work and I do see a difference in the way I feel when I’m eating junky.

This was a very informational video. I drink 2% milk…I thought it tasted better than whole milk and was healthier. It shocks me to know it isnt the BEST choice. A few things I did learn were that ginger helps with sweating, and nausea…that could be a good help for an alternative for a stomache ache. I have always used lemon juice for nausea..it seams to detach whatever is causing the nausea from the linning of the stomache..some times resulting in vomiting;but thats always better than a stomache ache!

Reply

Chang GA September 4, 2011 at 11:10 am

I usually use lemon for stomache aches. Sprite helps when I feel nauseated or when my stomache starts to hurt. I am Asian and we do use a lot of ginger in the things we cook, you would be amazed at all the things you can cook with ginger. This video was definitely very helpful.

Honestly, I eat alot ot fast foods because I’m always on the go. I work 2 jobs, one of the two consist of 40 hours in 3 days. The other is only three days 9-5. I don’t like it but I’m strapped for time. Another issue is most healthy foods are expensive for a family of four. I do my best thou. I’m mostly a fruit and vegetable person. I do cook and when I do I try to cook from all the food groups. I’ve gained weight and trying to lose therefore I’m trying to make it a habit to choose the my meals wisely. I’ve started snacking on fruits and vegetables instead of chips and candy bars. I do use olive oil, love yogurt, cranberries, brown rice, broccoli etc.
This video is very helpful in learning to choose foods with the most benefits for me and my family.

Water is very important in maintaining your health.
The video list of super foods was very informative. I actually knew most of the info because I made my sons baby food instead of buying it. Its always a great reminder when your schedule gets crazy!!

CHANG GA September 4, 2011 at 11:02 am

I like this cute little baby video. With my busy schedule, I rarely drink water. I am either drinking a coke or coffee at work, then when I have night classes I’m drinking my Mt Dew or another 20 oz coke. I definitely am not as energized as those adorable babies, I wish I can be tho. I do play a lot of outdoor volleyballs on the weekends and I absolutely love being outdoors and there’s not a better feeling than going out and doing some major exercise. Water is an important part in our diet, bc it helps clean the waste out of our systems and I have gone on a diet where I only drink water and I lost a good amount of water weight, but it’s how strict I am on what I eat that can make me a healthier person. Now I don’t think I can give up my fast foods, but will try to eat healthier and drink plenty of water.

I really think the roller-dancing babies were beyond cute but I agree with several other post my concentration was the cuteness not the product. I do like Evian water but think other waters are more affordable and will be as good for my health. However the commercial does make room for good conversation and I do think of the babies as the Evian water roller-babies.

As for the superfoods, I love them all except the butternut squash and cranberry juice. I eat most of them regularly. I prefer greek yogurt over regular yogurt. I also eat atleast two serving of fish per week. I love salmon, but throw other fish in the mix for variety such as Mahi Mahi, Tilapia, and Cod. I’m pretty sure the Tilapia and Cod are a little high in cholesteral though. Really enjoyed the video.

Many of the foods that were recommended reminded me of the Mediteranian style diet. So often it seems quicker not to take the time to prepare fresh veg. but it seems that the benifits outway the drawback of time restrictions. I have gotten out of the habit of preparing 2 or 3 meals ahead of time and need to resume that habit.
