Like the other videos that we have seen that show exactly what is happening in a specific process, the cancer one delivered as well. Seeing exactly what is happening inside the body and how, why, and where cancer spreads, is so much more clear to me now. Good video.
The next 2 videos ties in with the whole class. The bottom line is if you eat the correct foods your body will naturally fight off so many bad diseases and cancers. The message throughout the course has been loud and clear. Diet means everything for our health.
I couldn’t have said it better myself… It all comes back to our diet. If we are eating healthy vitamin rich foods and skipping out on all the fatty, greasy, processed foods, our chances of getting one of these dreaded diseases is decreased substantially. I think we all should come back to these videos and watch them again on a regular basis b/c this has just motivated me to get back on track with my daily nutrition. After awhile, we all seem to forget how unbelievably important our daily diet is for our health. And when we are reminded of all the horrible painful diseases that we can get when we don’t eat right, changing our diet doesn’t seem that difficult anymore….
“it all comes back to our diet” So accurate! I agree with evertyhting that was said on these comments!
tsamuelsNovember 7, 2018 at 9:32 pm
Yes I never thought that someones diet would cause cancer, but it is interesting to know things to help prevent it.
RAPAPMNovember 8, 2016 at 9:27 pm
my nana took the saying an apple a day keeps the doctors away way to extreme when I was young. she applied it to everything. she would tell me what all the vegetables did for your body and fruit as well. she was strict on them vitamins too. her mom died from cancer and she swore she would try her best to stay healthy and try to not get it. so far so good. she is healthy as can be at her age.
i totally agree and your grandma did a great job. growing vegetables is also a way to cut cost on veggies.
tscalesOctober 2, 2018 at 6:16 pm
You had a good nana. I’m sure her nutritional habits have taken you a long way and kept you pretty healthy.
kflemingNovember 8, 2022 at 10:06 pm
Your grandma did a great job by being like that. I wish my family would have been like that. I definitely needed to eat more fruits and veggies when I was younger. It definitely makes a difference eating healthier.
PauffmommaMarch 5, 2017 at 4:54 pm
I agree it is amazing to see how or nutrition effects us in illness as well
I agree, everybody should strt by eating heathier foods in order to have less cancer and obesity.
mfranklin1`March 16, 2017 at 10:55 am
I am sure that is why we are seeing more and more cancer at younger ages now days. we are a fast food society and putting horrible things in our body, myself included, mainly because of convenience.
I never really believed that, but after watching so many of these videos I am definitely convinced that we could cure and prevent so many diseases and ailments by simply changing our diets and eating better!
SRogersApril 7, 2018 at 6:19 pm
I agree. most people are healthier if they eat a healthy diet. Also, the foods that people consume help in providing part of the vitamins that they need. However, when people only eat a bad diet, they miss out on the vitamins in their food that help stop many diseases.
aperet1April 10, 2018 at 12:13 am
A healthy diet is very crucial but things such as pollution and all play a role too so it can’t necessarily cure everything, but I see where you are going haha!
eljaye28April 4, 2022 at 3:39 pm
A healthy diet may or may not be a cure all but it does help. If there’s a background of cancer in your family and you can eat health and still get cancer, but a healthy diet can eliminate some from getting cancer.
jrousuNovember 7, 2017 at 4:44 pm
I agree! Diet is everything especially when you are healing or ill. Most everyone in the hospital is placed on a specific diet to maximized recovery of the body.
These videos act as if cancer is pathogen that can be prevented by eating. When cancer is the over production of cells that can build up and do not get destroyed. Eating correctly can help manage the production of each cell.
It was interesting to see exactly how and where cancer can spreads. It is so important for people to aware that a good diet can prevent so many diseases!
There are too many foods out there that are not good for that cause so many diseases or side effects so why do they sell them and produce them. What is good for you they change their minds so many times that you cant keep up. so why try.
I agree with you on most of this, but why not try? Even if you partially eat what we should, isn’t that better than nothing? I would think so anyway. So don’t just give up, at least partially try.
I know i agree it is so crazy to think about the foods that are popular. Most of the foods are so unhealthy but are easily accessible. Diet is the most important thing to maintaining a healthy life yet the media and big corporations advertise, produce, and sell so many things that steer people away from a healthy lifestyle weather it be food or just products that are toxic to our system.
Our biggest problem is in fact that the foods that are so accessible are the worst for us. This includes mainly junk foods, that I enjoy the most. I agree diet is the most important thing to maintaining a healthy life style we just have to watch what we eat.
Ashleigh W.July 15, 2016 at 8:23 pm
Its sad that a healthy lifestyle is not advertised the same way a big mac is.
Sydney NicholeJuly 19, 2016 at 9:47 pm
I don’t understand why eating healthy hits the pocketbooks much more than eating unhealthy. Fruits, vegetables, and salads are much more expensive than a bag of potato chips or a quarter pounder and fries.
abrewer2016November 8, 2016 at 11:12 am
The prices of things is a big issue. Salads cost way more than a cheeseburger does. So it makes it more affordable to just go buy a cheese burger instead of a salad. It’s really sad. To bad they don’t make healthier food more affordable.
EPUGHNovember 2, 2016 at 4:15 pm
It is all about money and convenience… It is cheaper to create boxed, frozen, and processed food in bulk. Fresh food spoils faster and takes more work to manage. It is horrible. I wish they could not create that stuff but I am sure more people would starve and food supply would be low.
I will be forever baffled by the fact that it is cheaper to eat chemicals than natural foods.
JgainesNovember 3, 2016 at 12:40 am
Yes. It is hard trying to eat healthy because it is so expensive. Buying a salad from a fast food place rather than a burger is going to be at least $2 dollars more. Everything healthy is more expensive and I do not understand why either.
WOW MORE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT EATING HABITS AND HOW THEY CAN HURT YOU IN THE LONG RUN. MY MOTHER WHO ALWAYS TAKE SO MUCH SUPPLEMENTS AND EAT HEALTHLY JUST ENDING UP WITH CANCER SO EATING HEALTH MIGHT HELP THE RISK BUT YOU CAN`T STOP FROM GETTING CANCER. IF YOUR MET TO GET IT THEN YOU CANT HELP IT FROM COMING. NOW EATING RIGHT AND HEALTH CAN HELP ALOT BETTER THAN MAKING WORST. I LIKE THESE VIDOE AND ENJOY EVERYONE OF THEM.
Cancer can be caused by so many things like radiation, an abnormality in our body or something else, so I agree that sometimes you can’t help it. Cancer is unpredictable, but like you said eating the right thing can help in someway.
Very good to discover that only by our eating habits, we can considerably prevent cancer. Good animation in the first video to explain how cancer develops in human body. Good to know that supplements cannot helps someone to prevent cancer. The third video gave me the right nutrition plan to prevent cancer by eating healthfull. Good videos.
These videos were very informative I just wish that I could cut out on some of the meat and incorporate more fruits and vegetables than what I do now. Its very interesting to know that green tea could prevent cancer. I have never really liked green tea but this may challenge me to drink some every now and then.
Hi LLM, it takes only one step to do that. If you try one time, the nexts should be easy for you. All what it takes, it is to start. Idid it . It worked for me, maybe it will for you.
The first video was interesting. You hear people talk about cancer running in the genes but to actually understand how it actually happens is another thing. I was very neat to to watch how the cells divide into an uncontrolled way.
Cancer is actually pretty amazing, in terms of how it works. I really enjoy reading on cancer, and I think one day we will have a cure. Already, we understand more about cancer than we did 10-20 years ago.
I thought the video of how the cells in our body divide was very interesting. I had no idea that green tea helps prevent cancer, along with fruits and vegetables and whole grains. I don’t like fish, so eating it twice a week is out for me. I wish I liked it better, since one of the videos said that it reduces the risk of cancer by 30-50%. I have never thought of an apple with the skin being a preventative for cancer. I will definitely start buying more apples to snack on now. I didn’t realize how bad red meat is for you, until I started watching these videos. I used to just eat chicken and turkey, until I met my husband. Now I also eat hamburgers, hot dogs, steaks, fried shrimp, some tuna, and bacon. I think I was better off just eating chicken and turkey.
THIS VIDEO WAS VERY INFORMATIVE. IT EXPLAINED ALOT TO ME ESPECIALLY WHY OUR CELLS DIVIDE. I THOUGHT IT WAS INTERESTING THAT THEY ACCUMULATE MORE WHEN DNA IS BROKEN DOWN. FRUITS AND VEGETABLES ARE GREAT FOR ONES BODIES BUT I DIDN’T KNOW THAT THE HELD SUCH A SIGNIFICANT ROLE FOR OUR IMMUNE SYSTEM. I RECENTLY FOUND OUT HOW BAD RED MEATS WERE FOR ONE HENCE COLON CANCER. VERY GOOD VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Hopefully soon we will come up with a cure for this horrible disease. These videos were interesting because they talked about how you can catch it or it be passed on from generation to generation. I have quite a bit of people in my family that have died of cancer, so taking care of your body like not smoking can help you from getting it.
I TO HOPE THEY FIND A CURE FOR THIS HORRIBLE DISEASE AND FAST. CANCER RUNS A LOT IN MY FAMILY TO. I WAS WATCHING DR. OZ ONE DAY AND NOT ONLY IS THERE FIRST AND SECOND HAND SMOKE BUT DID YOU KNOW THAT A THIRD EXIST. IT IS CARRIED THROUGH THE CLOTHES THAT YOU WEAR. I THOUGHT THAT TO BE INTERESTING BECAUSE THAT THE BIGGEST WAY CHILDREN AND INFANTS ARE EXPOSED TO IT. WE THINK THAT NOT SMOKING AROUND THEM WILL HELP THEM BUT THEY CAN ABSORB THE TOXINS FROM THE SMOKE THROUGH OUR CLOTHES.
There are tests that you can get now that can tell you if you are carrying the gene for certain types of cancer… I know they have the test for breast cancer. If you test negative, that doesn’t mean that you wont get breast cancer, but if you test positive then you more than likely get it. I think the test is a good thing. Alot of women are deciding to get breast removal and implants when they learn they test positive. If they do that, then they will know for sure they wont get it.
It is interesting to me that cancer can be passed through generations. I truly believe some of the cancer causes are the food we buy at the stores. Who knows how it is treated, what is fed to the animals, and the chemicals they use to treat the animals and vegetation scares me.
Yes, me to! We don’t know what we are eating. There are so many meats being pumped with hormones and our veggies are being wiped down with pesticides, its scary.
MRC2July 12, 2011 at 2:51 pm
Once again, these videos were very informative. I really want to grow myself a garden so I can have all the fresh vegetables I want and with no contaminates. Just another reason to believe what God made is better for us than what man has made. Are you beginning to see the picture more clear people? When people start messing with something that is already perfect, bad things happen. Look at all the benefits of natural foods. Americans are desensitizing their taste buds to the over powering tastes of man-made food items. This makes really good foods taste bland. I am going to go eat an apple right now.
Much of what we are learning seems to have a theme that if you eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains then you will have better health, wellness, and possibly longevity. I have been a vegetarian for about five years and it was one of the best decisions that I made for my health and happiness. I’ve learned to become a more creative cook and I’m not limited to meat and potatoes. Now, it’s good to know that this lifestyle decision may even help prevent cancer.
I am glad being a vegetarian is working out really well for you. I am closer to a vegetarian now then I have ever thought I would be. I do love my meat but it is only stuff like fish and egg whites. I like chicken but it has become less appealing to me. Especially after watching the movie Food Inc. If you have not watched it then you really need to. That goes out to everyone. People are so blind from how and where our food comes from. No wonder there are so many cancer cases. People you need to get informed. Start buying organic. Yes, I know it is more pricey but is your life and your childβs life not worth those few extra pennies?
wow. that is awesome that you are a vegetarian. I wish I could eat more fruits and vegetables than what I do now. I would love to cut out on eating so much meat and eat a variety foods.
They would just change them once you find that you like them they would find another way to say they arent good for you.
JM2July 23, 2011 at 10:04 am
Being a vegetarian has it’s benefits. But I don’t know how you can stand to be around a steak cooking on a grille and not go insane knowing you won’t be able to eat any of it. I’m all for eating healthy, especially after this class. My wife and I have modified a lot. But you can have meat in moderation and be perfectly fine. You only live once and who wants to live to 100 if you didn’t enjoy the ride. I’m glad it’s working out for you but I’ll continue to indulge in a moderate way.
Great for you. I believe vegetarians are the healthiest people on this planet hands down. With all the plant based proteins and antioxidants from fruits. But, me myself just can’t do it.
Ashleigh W.July 15, 2016 at 8:26 pm
Good for you! What a beautiful way to live. That’s the problem people are afraid that being a vegetarian will limit their food choices and it doesn’t. It helps prevent all these nasty diseases naturally.
I agree. Cancer takes so many different shapes and forms, and it is kind of comforting to know that we can make simple changes to our diet and exercise to try and counter some of the causes.
The clips have been the most influential to me because my mother is batteling cancer for the second time and I worry that I may be at risk. It is good to know that alot of the foods I eat may help prevent cancer.
I have not learned that much about cancer so it was interesting to see the video on how it develops. I never knew eating all these different kinds of food could keep us healthy. When I do have kids I want to keep them on the right track. I am learning that all these foods are very important.
I started eating alot of fresh fruits and vegetables. Just watching these videos makes me want to continue eating right. I really enjoy watching them, very informational.
It’s good to know that eating lots of fruits and vegetables will help prevent some cancers. It’s encouraging to hear all of the studies out there that health and wellness improves longevity.
I really liked hearing that improving your diet and fruits and vegetables will help prevent some cancers! I love my fruits and veggies!
wjh2June 26, 2011 at 9:52 pm
I love broccoli and I also love blackberries and blueberries and strawberries. I dont think I have ever tried sprouts though. I love almost all veggies and fruit. I should eat more of them. I love these videos.
I do think cancer can be cause by what we eat but also it can just run in the family. I see that with my own eyes where the person eats healthy her hole life and don`t smoke but end up with lung cancer. To me it just don`t make sense.
I agree, I think there are some people that are more prone to get cancer than others I have seen people that smoke their whole life and die at 95 and never get cancer. I think your genes have alot to do with it as well as your diet.
I agree that there are some things you can do to prevent certain cancers but I also know there are some cancers that there is nothing you can do. I had Leukemia and my Oncologist said they do not know what causes Leukemia.
I have always believed that cancer was caused by mainly what we eat. If we all ate healthy fresh food that was baked or steamed we probaly would be cancer free. Healthy food unforntaly comes at a higher price. Maybe one day i will be able to resist the taste of fried foods and change my diet to a healthy one.-JB
I crave fast food. We eat out at least once a day. It’s awful. We are all too lazy to go to the store and cook so we just order take out or go through the drive through. We are the typical american family. That is very sad to say.
Unfortunately, I must say I do the same thing. Our economy forces both parents to work and alot of days I am so tired from working all day it just seems so much easier to go to McDonald’s drive-thru for dinner.
Ashleigh W.July 15, 2016 at 8:28 pm
Most people are, that’s why these videos are so great. We are learning what food to avoid and incorporate in our diets to prevent disease. The fast food restaurants do not care if you get sick, we have to care enough to stop treating our bodies this way. I think you should take it one day at a time and soon you all will hate fast food.
B-NApril 29, 2011 at 4:57 pm
I’m in major trouble because of the lists of food that helps prevent cancers…the only things I actually enjoy on that entire list is Orange Juice and apples…and cancer also runs on my mother’s side of the family which doesn’t really help things either.
I am a picky eater, so I understand what you are saying. Cancer runs in my family as well. I am going to do my best to start eating better, even if I don’t like what I am eating.
We should eat these things, but our lack of self disipline is awful. As a whole we would rather eat stuff that isn’t good for us and risk it. Subconsiciously we are all saying it can’t happen to me.
I was so interested in all the cancer fighting foods that I learned about in the second video. Makes you wonder why we do not eat these things all the time so we can try and prevent the development of cancer!!! The drink green tea is not one of my favorites but when you hear that the place where it is most harvested is the lowest cancer in the world it makes you want to drink it all the time. The 3rd video shows what we should and shouldnβt eat to fight cancer. A good way to do that is to eat lots of fruits, vegtables, and fiber. Brocoili, genger, fish, and blackberries are all leading foods. I like the idea of a βGut Friendly Diet.β Iβm going to try some of these methods out.
Over the weekend we found out that my sister in law has cervical cancer. It is said that atleast one out of 10 people have cervical cancer but just do not know it. The videos are true she has to change her diet completely. More fruits and vegetable and a lot of soy products. Cancer is a very scary thing to go through andd is very hard for a family to deal with.
Fresh fruits and vegetables are so very important to our diets. It seems they help almost everything. I personally do not eat enough of these, but hopefully my taste buds will change and I will find fresh vegetables tastier than I have in the past. s-g
Cancer, like all the other diseases studied in this class, can be prevented through our diets. The video encouraged us to eat colorful fruits and vegetables and to reduce the intake of red meats. Fish was important in the prevention of cancer. I have never had green tea but I will be looking in the store for it.
I find these videos so relevent. Eating healthy and watching the kinds of foods we eat is so very important, not just in preventing cancer, but other diseases as well. It’s difficult to understand how something we eat today can have an effect on our health years down the road, but it can and often does happen.
It’s sad too because most people do not realize the consequences of eating bad too. We live in a society full of instant gratification so we don’t want to eat well if it may mean we have sacrifice the unhealthy foods we crave and desire.
These videos were very informative. I have lost several family members to cancer. It was interesting to see how the cancer cells grow. Eating healthy is not just something to do for your overall health. It also aids in preventing cancers.
Cancer is a nightmare to me.I have lost someone so precious to it.It is actually assuring to know that there are some foods that can reduce ones chance of getting cancer tremendously.Healthy eating is a step towards a healthy life.
EA
I knew that berries were good for a lot of things, but never would I have guessed that they are good for helping prevent cancer! Berries are God’s miracle food!
I have begun drinking watercress and dandelion tea, I have read that watercress helps and is an cancer reversing vegetable…..I have also increased my fruits and vegetable intake….
These videos were very interesting. Eating healthy is key to being healthy. Cancer as we all know is a very serious disease. Eating healthy is just one of the things we need to do daily to prevent it. We also need to protect our skin from the harmful and cancer causing sunlight, and watch the cleaning products we use in our homes or the chemicals we use in the summer time to keeping the pest and weeds away.
I had no idea that the chemicals we clean with could cause cancer. I love to clean and use products to make the house smell fresh. I hope i am not at risk.
-JB
I agree that not just eating healthy will reduce our chances but protecting ourselves, or rather avoiding harmful substances that are linked to cancer.
I really enjoyed this. Cancer can be scary, but with proper nutrition you can assist with keeping your body healthy. If there is nothing else someome should do, you should eat cancer preventative foods!
my dad had colon cancer and we were told that everyone has cancer cells in their body. now whether it is activated or not is a different story. Cancer research cost of millions but we also have millions dying yearly from this diease. the most important thing is to catch it early so it can be treated but cancer really doesnt have many symptoms that people that dont go to the doctor often. I hope that stem cell will cure this deadly dieases. Good informational videos
Eating more healthy and taking vitamins would seem easier to me than trying some of these diets. Im going to start eating more of the foods in the second video.
I really enjoyed seeing how the cancer cells grow in the first video. I liked how the other videos taked about the things we should and should not be eating. I try to be a healthy person, but it is really hard to turn down foods that I love because they are not good for me. It is really something that I need to work on.
Trying these diets are very hard. I say they people should take there vitamins and eat a healthy meal and they will have more come out of life than they think.
I really liked the first video. I like animations that show you how these things occur. Of course a healthy diet and excercise help ou heth in many ways. I love my veggies and most fruits.
As always a healty diet and good nutrition is always the key to staying healthy i have tried a glutin free diet but i could not do it. It takes alot of will power to stick with a healthy diet, to prevent cancer or any diease for that matter, if you can or are trying to more power to you.
I like how the first video was done. It was interesting to see how cancer formed then how it formed secondary cancers that was distributed in the blood stream to other parts of a body.
Increasing you chances of avoiding cancer can be as easy as going to your local grocery store. There are so many choices that are absoloutly delicious! π
Good nutrition is a vital must to building a healthy gutt. Fruits and vegetables are the best. Fiber is another good thing to consume in moderation and helps in weight loss as well because it helps you to feel full longer in-between meals.
I hate water…. having grown up without it I have not aquired a taste for it, I try to dring some water every day but it is a challenge.
I enjoyed all of these videos especially the first, which really helped explain the formation and growth of cancer, as well as the second, which gave great advise on what to eat to help prevent cancer. I learned a few new things from the second video such as that broccoli is a very important food because it contains isothiocyanate and folate, both of which have been proven successful in helping prevent cancer. Luckily for me I love broccoli! π I also learned that Japan has the lowest cancer rate due to the widespread consumption of green tea which has made me decide that I am going to try to start drinking green tea, even though I’m not crazy about the taste.
I liked the second video the best because it listed foods that we should eat to prevent cancer. And its really crazy how women in general don’t take in enough calcium in a day and with that being said we need to take supplements.
i totally agree with these videos.cancer has alot to do with what we put in the body.nowadays almost every affordable foods out there in the markets has chemicals added in them.if it can change foods from their natural state, then there is a very high probability that it might cause the same or similar changes in the human body.organic foods are best but they are more expenssive.it is worth the sacrifice if one has to cut down some of the risks of getting cancer.
I absolutely loved all the videos. It has always been a passion to eat what the lord gave us. And very little man mad products. The videos show that eating the rainbow can have significant health benefits.
I love garlic and ginger, I have not tried turmeric mostly because i don’t know what to use it on. I already eat most of the things listed with the exceptions of an apple a day and berries. Will have to try and incorporate these in the diet.
These videos were extremely informative. I have had two grandparents on both my mom and dads side that have passed away from cancer. I like and already eat a lot of the foods that were mentioned. I am going to continue to incorporate healthy things in my diet.
The first video- This was an over view of what I already knew but, I really liked the 3-D images showing how the cancer cell growns. I never really knew that the nucleus really determined if the cell lives or dies. Cancer cells can form to damage to genes, genetics, and other leading factors. The second video- It showed what foods we should eat to prevent cancer cells. Like berries, spices, green tea, and apples. I never knew that Japan has the lowest rate due to their green tea growth. Green Tea increases cancer fighting oxidants. The third video- shows what we should and shouldn’t eat to fight cancer. A good way to do that is to eat lots of fruits, vegtables, and fiber. Brocoili, genger, fish, and blackberries are all leading foods. I like the idea of a “Gut Friendly Diet.” I’m going to try some of these methods out.
It is amazing how cancer cells grow and spread. Cancer cell grow at such a fast rate..its unbelievable. It interesting that certain foods can prevent cancers. Broccoli ,certain berries, spices, nut, and fruit!! Its very interesting how food can be harmful and helpful to our bodies.
I agree, it is ironic that pretty much everything we eat is either going to make us or break us. I have learned a lot about a few foods from the essay assignment. It is scary thinking about all the different diseases and what is going to work for our own body.
thats true, but it is the food choices we make that determines if they are harmful to our body or not.i believe if we spend money on healthy foods, then we will spend less on health.thats will be a lot of savings!
WHEN WE CHOOSE TO EAT PEOPLE DON`T REALIZE WHAT COULD BE HURTING THEM. YES I THINK IN THE LONG RUN YOUR SAVE MONEY IF YOU EAT HEALTHLY.
Devin RNovember 15, 2010 at 7:02 pm
I knew that certain foods and preparation methods could contribute to the risk of cancer, but I did not know that there were foods that could help prevent cancer. Certain berries, watercress, spices and sources of isothiocyanate, like brocolli, are known preventitives.
Food (nutrition) is linked to everything! Good health Bad health. How and what you eat is a dirrect reflection, in my mind, of how healthy you are. Isnβt it wonderful to see that we can be our own healers through eating super foods.
All these videos were informative on how eating right is the best way to stay healthy and avoiding any kind of diseases such as, cancer. Watching theses videos i learned that there are so many different vitamins in so many different foods such as, broccoli, and nuts. Giving a list of what is good and not good for you is perfect for a person to get the right foods for a good and healthy meal.
I agree, eating right and natural is the key. I also know just saying do it solves nothing. Teach the proper foods to eat. Lists for this or that is a good learning tool.
We live in such a fast paced world that sometimes we don’t have time to even make the healthy choice as opposed to the most timely choice.
AMGJuly 18, 2011 at 11:52 pm
I agree these videos were very informational. I didnt realize that i already ate alot of the foods listed and had no idea that they could help prevent cancer. I have lost both of my parents to cancer and i try to do everything i can to prevent that from happening to me.
The first video was very interesting to me to see how the cancer cells grow. The second video was informative on what we can eat to help prevent cancer. I love broccoli and will be eating more of it, along with macadamia nuts, yummy. I like how the third video gave lists of what we should and shouldn’t eat although, I have learned that from the nutrition class itself.
It is interesting that they mentioned broccoli. Some say that it’s a hybrid and aides in cancer. Learning more about foods and how cancer impacts the body could start turning some diagnosis’s around.

Yes I never thought that someones diet would cause cancer, but it is interesting to know things to help prevent it.
my nana took the saying an apple a day keeps the doctors away way to extreme when I was young. she applied it to everything. she would tell me what all the vegetables did for your body and fruit as well. she was strict on them vitamins too. her mom died from cancer and she swore she would try her best to stay healthy and try to not get it. so far so good. she is healthy as can be at her age.
i totally agree and your grandma did a great job. growing vegetables is also a way to cut cost on veggies.
You had a good nana. I’m sure her nutritional habits have taken you a long way and kept you pretty healthy.
Your grandma did a great job by being like that. I wish my family would have been like that. I definitely needed to eat more fruits and veggies when I was younger. It definitely makes a difference eating healthier.
I agree it is amazing to see how or nutrition effects us in illness as well
Everybody should follow the guide lines on those videos. You will have less obesity and less cancer.
Our nutrition aids in illnesses so it should also be able to prevent illnesses depending on the right things consumed.
I agree, everybody should strt by eating heathier foods in order to have less cancer and obesity.
I am sure that is why we are seeing more and more cancer at younger ages now days. we are a fast food society and putting horrible things in our body, myself included, mainly because of convenience.
Absolutely this fast food is killing our youth and most be handled.
Exactly, a healthy diet can cure all!
I never really believed that, but after watching so many of these videos I am definitely convinced that we could cure and prevent so many diseases and ailments by simply changing our diets and eating better!
I agree. most people are healthier if they eat a healthy diet. Also, the foods that people consume help in providing part of the vitamins that they need. However, when people only eat a bad diet, they miss out on the vitamins in their food that help stop many diseases.
A healthy diet is very crucial but things such as pollution and all play a role too so it can’t necessarily cure everything, but I see where you are going haha!
A healthy diet may or may not be a cure all but it does help. If there’s a background of cancer in your family and you can eat health and still get cancer, but a healthy diet can eliminate some from getting cancer.
I completely agree. Its all about your diet. What you put in your body is what you get out of it. Treat it right you only get one!
I completely agree
Its sad that a healthy lifestyle is not advertised the same way a big mac is.
I don’t understand why eating healthy hits the pocketbooks much more than eating unhealthy. Fruits, vegetables, and salads are much more expensive than a bag of potato chips or a quarter pounder and fries.
The prices of things is a big issue. Salads cost way more than a cheeseburger does. So it makes it more affordable to just go buy a cheese burger instead of a salad. It’s really sad. To bad they don’t make healthier food more affordable.
I agree. Seems like everything causes cancer.
It comforts me a little more too know that also. With a good diet and a healthy and active lifestyle we can almost prevent this.
They were good videos i agree with you i think it is great to watch videos on this kind of stuff to explain to us what this stuff means.
Eating habits need to change for many people. Healthy eating habits is a better thing for everyone to try and be healthier.
I found that very interesting as well.
We use ground turkey in spaghetti, tacos, chili, etc and its pretty good. You cant really tell the difference except the texture is a little softer.
Red meats are fine as long as they are lean. Learned that from another video. Eating chicken and turkey you can never go wrong with that.
I’ve taken the same message here. If it’s grown from the ground, it’s typically good for you. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, etc. Have to eat them!
Good for you! What a beautiful way to live. That’s the problem people are afraid that being a vegetarian will limit their food choices and it doesn’t. It helps prevent all these nasty diseases naturally.
I picked up on that as well. basically the whole of these videos consist of telling people to eat fresh fruits and vegetables.
This was the thing I worried about in my diet plan
it is interesting to know that cancer is sometime preventable and that there are ways to help battle it with out the use of harmful drugs
I agree. Cancer takes so many different shapes and forms, and it is kind of comforting to know that we can make simple changes to our diet and exercise to try and counter some of the causes.
I agree
The clips have been the most influential to me because my mother is batteling cancer for the second time and I worry that I may be at risk. It is good to know that alot of the foods I eat may help prevent cancer.
I have not learned that much about cancer so it was interesting to see the video on how it develops. I never knew eating all these different kinds of food could keep us healthy. When I do have kids I want to keep them on the right track. I am learning that all these foods are very important.
I love fruit but I am certainly going to start eating more and change to whole wheat products to incorporate more fiber.
I’m in major trouble because of the lists of food that helps prevent cancers…the only things I actually enjoy on that entire list is Orange Juice and apples…and cancer also runs on my mother’s side of the family which doesn’t really help things either.
I hear what you are saying , but sometimes we just have to change are ways and make are self to start liking better things.
I agree completely. No one ever wants to think it will happen to them until it has.
Amen! Proper nutrition can heal the world!
my dad had colon cancer and we were told that everyone has cancer cells in their body. now whether it is activated or not is a different story. Cancer research cost of millions but we also have millions dying yearly from this diease. the most important thing is to catch it early so it can be treated but cancer really doesnt have many symptoms that people that dont go to the doctor often. I hope that stem cell will cure this deadly dieases. Good informational videos
RE
Eating more healthy and taking vitamins would seem easier to me than trying some of these diets. Im going to start eating more of the foods in the second video.
I really enjoyed seeing how the cancer cells grow in the first video. I liked how the other videos taked about the things we should and should not be eating. I try to be a healthy person, but it is really hard to turn down foods that I love because they are not good for me. It is really something that I need to work on.
Trying these diets are very hard. I say they people should take there vitamins and eat a healthy meal and they will have more come out of life than they think.
These videos were very informative. I like how the second video gave you a list of foods that will help you prevent cancer.
It is reay hard tk stick to a healthy diet. Especially when fast food and anything easy has been a way in life for so long.
It is extremely hard to stick to any diet! I think I will try to eat the foods that will help fight cancer.
I hate water…. having grown up without it I have not aquired a taste for it, I try to dring some water every day but it is a challenge.
i’m not a big vegetable fan…but i guess i could do it to prevent cancer definitely.
Right! Anything to prevent cancer I will do!
I completely agree. The second video was very useful with information that I didn’t have prior to viewing it!
agree
I agree with you! I have just started taking supplements.
i totally agree with these videos.cancer has alot to do with what we put in the body.nowadays almost every affordable foods out there in the markets has chemicals added in them.if it can change foods from their natural state, then there is a very high probability that it might cause the same or similar changes in the human body.organic foods are best but they are more expenssive.it is worth the sacrifice if one has to cut down some of the risks of getting cancer.
Will have to try and incorporate these in the diet.
cinnimon and fruits would be my favorite things listed to eat that helps prevent cancer and most of the vegetables that was listed I don’t like.
I agree these videos were very informational. I didnt realize that i already ate alot of the foods listed and had no idea that they could help prevent cancer. I have lost both of my parents to cancer and i try to do everything i can to prevent that from happening to me.
I liked how imply these videos laid out what to eat as well!
The first video was very interesting to me to see how the cancer cells grow. The second video was informative on what we can eat to help prevent cancer. I love broccoli and will be eating more of it, along with macadamia nuts, yummy. I like how the third video gave lists of what we should and shouldn’t eat although, I have learned that from the nutrition class itself.
. It was very interesting to see how cells grow. I eat lots of broccoli and will eat more myself now that I know how good it really is for you.
It is interesting that they mentioned broccoli. Some say that it’s a hybrid and aides in cancer. Learning more about foods and how cancer impacts the body could start turning some diagnosis’s around.
