I really liked how the gentleman described the chemical buildup of the trans fat, and I never knew all the conditions that could be treated with Omega 3.
I agree i liked how he displayed that too. I am also taking an anatomy and physiology class and what we are studying right now ties into trans-fats. I find it quite intriguing.
Omega 3 fatty acids are great for mental health as well.
I am taking nutrition and find it very interesting that omega 3 can help with so many other medical conditions. I may need to add this to my daily supplements.
I found that very interesting as well! It ties in to what I am learning in A&P
I agree with you. I’ve taken a & p 1 and 2 and it’s amazing how so much of what I’ve learned through those classes tie into my nutrition class.
Nutrition and A&P go hand-in-hand and it has helped me have a better understanding of how the body works by taking these classes along side each other.
I have noticed that also. I am in A&P 1 but I have completed LPN school and a lot of the same scenerios go hand and hand.
I actually did too! I am in A&P 2 right now! and I didn’t really understand it that much in part 1, but this would have helped alot if I had access when taking part 1.
I am learning more about Omega 3. I plan to eat more foods with Omega 3.
I had no clue about omega 3 until I watched this video. Im with you on eating more foods with omega 3
Me too. It makes since to have it in our diets, with all the benefits it has.
The best source for omega 3’s are found in fish.
I did not know all the benefits of Omega 3. I need to start checking into that more.
You can take daily fish oil vitamins to supply your body with omega 3, however do not take too much!
i was not aware of all the health benefits of omega3, since i do not eat fish i am going to get a supplement to take now that i know how important it is
Me too! I knew it was good to have fish in your diet, but I always thought it was because it was a lean meat. I never realized the need for omega 3. I plan on incorporating it more into my diet.
I agree! I didn’t know all of the benefits Omega 3 had until watching this video.
I am excited to hear about coconut oil and the benefits of changing to it for cooking. I am a nurse, and did touch on it in nursing school at one point, but I had no idea it was used for blood transfusions. It is amazing that we have so many natural and healthy resources and rarely try them. I am ready to make a change 🙂
I am going to try to eat more omega 3 also.
I didn’t realize that I wasn’t consuming enough Omega 3 and how beneficial it is to your health.
I have never heard that coconut oil was healthy for you and helps lose weight. I definitely want to test this one out.
i knew some of the good but didn’t know they were that they were this good for you. i agree i will be looking in to them as well.
Me too. I feel bad I did not know this before. I am starting it tomorrow.
If you like being out side or fishing then that is a good source as close to unprocessed as it gets, just do not fry it.
I don’t really eat many of the foods that have Omega 3s. I will have to rely on a supplement for these.
I am not a big fan of fish, I wonder if I could balance my diet well with Omega 3 by leaving out the fish.
I learned a lot after watching this video. I plan to add more Omega 3 foods to my diet too.
I did not know which fat was good or not, and I am good that butter, coconut oil, and olive oil is good fat and olive oil can help with damage hair like coconut oil or butter. What you do is you put the olive oil on your roots of your damaged hair if you have a perm, because it will help the hair to grow stronger and have a shine coat.
I always thought oils were bad for arteries and worked to prevent good blood flow. Learn something new every day!
I always thought oils were bad for arteries and worked to prevent good blood flow. Learn something new every day! Definitely gonna be adding more coconut oil in my diet. I have started to use it to cook with. Very tasty addition!
Yes agreed. I think I will get more in my diet too.
I didn’t know very much about omega 3, but i plan to start incorporating it more into my diet.
Me as well. I may eat fish once a month! Now that I know how it can naturally help my body I will try to eat it once a week.
I’ve always been a person that likes a good salmon, but now I have even more reasoning, I’m with you.
Just by watching this so many of us will eat more foods that contain Omega 3 in them.
I am also in A&P 2! I also never understood Omega 3 in A&P 1 but this video really helped me a lot to understand it a lot better.
I did not know that we should consume so much omega-3 fatty acid daily! Definitely going to buy some walnuts!
I’m not a fish eater so I was glad to learn other foods that contain omega-3
I am glad omega 3 fatty acid was mentioned. I had no clue about the benefits of it and while I was pregnant with my daughter, my nutrition consultant told me about them!
i was unaware that we needed so much i will be getting the fish oil and get walnuts when i can since they are high priced.
Yes I wasn’t aware that we needed as much as we do either. I’m sure if I increased my intake it might help with my super dry skin.
I didn’t realize the daily recommendation was that high either. I’m going to have to try to start eating more fish and walnuts. However, I’ll probably need to get some fish oil tablets too, so I can cover all the bases.
I always just assumed that omega-3 fatty acids were only found in certain types of fish, I did not know they were found in walnuts. I love eating walnuts!
I also was in the dark about how much we needed of them. I knew that they were essential to our diet and were very beneficial, however, now I know how much of each kind I need as well.
I never knew that either I found this to be very interesting and revealing. It amazing how much Omega 3 helps our body
I’m glad there was an explanation on omega 3 because I wasn’t exactly sure what it was or how it effected me.
Its so weird that walnuts are such good choices for omega-3 fatty acid!
I had no clue that’s why my mom used to include flax seeds in our breakfast smoothies!
redriverscott – I too thought that oils were bad. I did not know coconut oil was a good things, and I think I’ll start using it as well.
I also had no idea that olive oil could help with your hair – that’s neat!
Definitely consuming more omega-3 fatty acids will help in your diet. They play a critical role in many processes throughout the body. They have many health benefits to offer!
I didnt realize it was needed as well. However, I love fish so it’s good to know that I can get omega-3 through that.
I found the chemical buildup of trans fat to be very informational as well. There are various conditions that can be treated with omega 3. I am considering adding it to my daily vitamins.
I take fish oil as a supplement. But I also try to eat salmon and tuna a few times a week.
It amazes me to see just how much Omega 3 helps!
I do not consume a lot of omega-3 but i will start because it is good for you.
I as well do not consume enough omega-3 in my diet
I had no idea how good Omega-3 oil are for you. I don’t consume much of them but Im going to try to introduce them in to family dinners. I am also going to try and get my family to eat more fish and chicken instead of red meat.
I just added omega 3 to my daily vitamins! I did not know it was such an important substance for our body.
Unfortunately I do not consume Omega-3 Oil, I do not like fish. The next time I have to get my vitamin panel checked I will see if that’s something that I need to consume. If I do it will have to be in a supplement.
I as well thought the chemical build up was very informational. I have several food items that contain omega-3 in it but I did not realize it until i started my nutrition class. I bought most of what my mom bought for me.
I enjoyed and liked the way she described the way different oils and butters were good for you that you never think of. It gives a lot of great ideas to cook differently.
I was always told butter is bad for you. Apparently they were wrong.
I was told the same thing, I always used evoo.
I never knew what Omega 3 helped with. I need to try and add more to my diet!
It was nice to see some of the health benefits of different kinds of fats.
The guy was kind of hard to follow for me. However, I do agree I do really like how he described the chemical buildup of the trans fat.
I take 4x350mg omega tabs daily, changed to olive oil, wish they made spread to put on bread(grilled cheese) that would brown like butter
I have used olive oil to toast my bread. Just put a little in a cup and brush it on witha basting brush works like a charm.
I also wish that it would act like real butter. I wish there was another closer alternative to butter that looked and acted more like butter.
In my house, we use olive oil with all our cooking. We cut out all the butters and everything. Changing up just a couple of things is so much healthier.
I had no idea the huge benefits of Omega-3. My father has a bad back that gets to hurting him almost every single night after he gets off work. I think Omega-3 could really benefit him. I am going to recommend it for sure.
I knew omega-3 had good benefits but didn’t either realize the benefits of joint health.
I never realized the benefits of Omega-3 for reducing pain. I suffer from chronic back pain, and I would like to put this to the test!
Yeah I never realized this either. I never really feel any pain but next time I do I’ll definitely remember this!
my mother started taking it after she broke her ankle and has said it helps on days that she is hurting, I didn’t believe her at first but after watching this video ill have to start taking it.
Really, I’m going to start taking them because I have problems with my ankle because I had broke mines also.
I’ll definitely have to let my mom know about Omega-3 because she has bad knees and her left foot still hurts her every now and then because she broke it a few years back.
I did not know there were good and bad fats. I always thought all fats were bad. I found it interesting that good/healthy fats can reduce the risk of heart disease. I also did not know that trans fats were man made, not natural. I need to start paying more attention to the food labels and watch out for trans fats and start cooking with peanut oil.
I knew there where good and bad fats but I had actually grouped some good fats with bad
Why is it that the bad fats make the food taste so good???
because they have feed it to us since birth and we are so use to that taste that what is good we dont think its good anymore.
I’m famous for using Bacon grease to cook some of my food it adds the best flavor if you like bacon and is better then some of the other options that are worse for us.
I thought there was only bad fat also because if you were to go to a personal trainer they would encourage one to eat little or no fats in foods.
I agree, I’ve always associated all fats as being “bad”. It’s interesting to hear that good fats are beneficial and necessary.
I did not know trans fats were man made either. I also need to start paying attention to food labels as well!
I did not know that trans fats were man made either. I never pay attention to food labels, but after watching this video I guess I should, too!
I also did not know a lot of these facts either. I want to start reading food labels more often too.
I also thought all fats were bad, who would have thought certain fats should be in our diet?!
Ok, watching this video makes me hungry! This is definitely do-able, she mentioned several of the things I love to eat and already do to prepare food like using the healthy oils. And I definitely try to stay away from Trans-fats.
She really did give a better insite to what fats we should be using and how to use them. I find this very good for a future use.
Its funny how all of the healthy food tastes nasty, but the ‘bad’ food has so much flavor.
The good foods have great flavor too, in my opinion. Avocados, olives, almonds…just a few examples of good fats and you can do different and yummy things with them.
Avocados are the best kind of fat! I’m from California and we didn’t use a lot of peanut oil, we preferred using avocado oil.
I totally agree with that. My husband has a bad heart. He has had two heart attacks and 6 stents put in, on cleaned out and he is on a lot of medication. His heart doctor told him if he wants to live to be old, then he has to be a very aggressive vegetarian. He told the doctor h*ll no.He tried to eat healthy and he said that it tasty nasty.
That is too true. Also, its funny how all the healthy food is very expensive. So, eating healthy is very expensive and something that most people can not afford these days.
Crazy how the foods we need to stay healthy and build our bodies up are way more ($) than the foods that are not so good for our bodies.
I believe its so backwards that good food taste funny but bad food is from heaven!
I have always cooked with Vegetable oils; now I am using Flavored Olive oils with pepper for my Salads and cooking. I used to season my green beans with Yeah! Bacon Grease. But now I use Olive Oil onions and pepper.
Good tips!. I think I’ll try both.
i am going to have to try olive oil as a dressing and try flavoring it. i cook with it all the time.
I use to use lard to com allot of my food but I moved to bacon grease because I figured it was a little better and it adds more flavor
Thanks for this! I am going to have to try this.
I didn’t realize how bad and harmful trans fats are to the body nor did I realize how helpful Omega-3 can be to the body. I would have to take Omega-3 supplements though, because I don’t like any fish or seafood. So, maybe I should start taking these supplements, because I am probably Omega-3 deficient since I don’t eat fish or seafood.
I don’t like fish or seafood either which can make it hard to get some of the essential nutrients that can come from these foods. You can get a fish oil supplement with Omega-3s to take though.
I agree I understand how some fats were bad for you but did not realize the effects trans fat could have on you. I love eating fish so omega-3 is not a problem for me.
I am right there with you. I don’t eat fish or seafood at all. I lack omega-3. I just caint find myself to swallow that pill though. I don’t know why either.
Wow, I had no idea that omega 3s helped with so many things. Love me some salmon!
The one that caught me off guard was that it could help with asthma.
I’ve heard so many good things about the omega 3 and I think I definitely need to start taking some supplements to get this in daily. I constantly wake up in pain I guess from the way I sleep and hopefully this will help in that aspect. But these videos are realistic because they state that people do need a little bit of fat, just the right type in the right way.
Well at least now, we know that the body does needs some fat, just not the wrong type of fat.
I really didn’t know anything about Healthy Fats. So, I thought this video was very interesting~!! But, I don’t know about eating a green bagel~!! XD ♥♥♥
In the second video the man made a very good point that everyone should look out for. If a food serving has less than 0.5g of trans-fat, the company can label it as having 0g trans-fat. That means that when you eat 3 servings of chips, you could be getting 1.5g of trans-fat which is already 3/4 of the RDA of trans-fat, (not that you should eat any).
This is a very important tip that more people should pay attention to.
that is a good point that many do not recognize. I also think that it is dumb that they can label it with zero trans fat even though it is less that 0.5g.
That’s a very good point. Thanks for sharing.
Is there a way that you can figure out if the food actually has trans-fat even though the label says there is none?
I need to start eating more fish and take some supplements to improve my health some.
I do not love fish enough to start making it a regular part of my diet. Don’t get me wrong. I like fish. I just don’t love it. Supplements would probably be my best bed of incorporating a healthy dose of Omega-3’s into my diet.
I didnt even know there were good fats. This video helped alot. I love learning about foods that affect weight loss and your body
I have heard about the difference in the both fats but never understood them.
I know a lot of people who diet that say to stay away from all fats. As mentioned in this video, it is good for your body to consume SOME fats to work and fuel. My biggest problem is staying away from cheese! I will be sure to choose leaner meats next time I go grocery shopping and start cooking with peanut oil instead of vegetable oil.
I know how you feel, I LOVE cheese~!! 😛 ♥♥♥ I don’t know about eating salmon tho~ :/ I’m not a big fish person, and I’ve been told it’s gross, but I’d love to try cooking with peanut oil~!! XD Phil Roberson style~!! 😉
I would bet you can keep your cheese as long as you are careful about the really bad stuff. I love cheese too, doesn’t hardly even matter what kind it is!
Cheese goose with everything. It is so hard to not stay away from things we enjoy even though we know that they are not good for us.
I think that while I consume the fats that I do consume. I need to start working out aswell.
Many people do not realize that your body needs some fat to work. That doesn’t mean the nasty fats. These videos helped me understand that i need to be looking at the nutrition label more often for the trans fat area. I also need to trade out some of my items in my kitchen to the healthier way. I do enjoy fish so I can trade out a lot more of the chicken and steak to some healthier choices such as some fish. Fish also helps with your digestive system.
I have also learned that I need to learn to read nutrition labels.
My mom has always made sure we eat a little bit of everything, she does cook with canola and olive oil and we love sea food so fish is a part of our diet so I get my omega 3 yayyy! We are not very big on sweets, or should I say trans fats 😉 although I do go to my friends house a lot and she loves to bake so that may ruin it for me.
I didn’t realize that trans fats can become incorporated with our cells causing several problem, such as making the cells more stiff and can prevent the cell from taking the needed nutrients. Also, I didn’t realize just how much the body needed omega-3 fatty acid. Its crazy how it can do so much for the body.
I’ve eyeballed nutrition labels before and noticed “trans-fat” and have always ignored it!! Boy did I learn a lot today on that same piece of information. I’ll for sure be looking out for that terrible ingredient!
This was perhaps my favorite video from the list so far. It was very helpful in determining sources of both good and bad fats. Fats clearly play an important part of overall health; there is fine line in between the right amout of fat in the diet versus too little/much. After watching this video, I will be incorperating much more fish into my regular diet.
Man!, do I love me some salmon, tuna, and basically any kind of fish. It’s hard to eat the right amount per week though as was mentioned in the second vid. I actually tend to eat too much fish so I really have to watch myself. I think it’s so great the benefits of Omega-3’s fatty acids and I especially like the anticoagulant feature and heart healthy benefits of it. I didn’t know it enhanced the benefits of anti-inflammatory drugs. Wow! So many uses for it!
My mother sometimes goes crazy with the sea food so I know how you feel ^_^ but tuna is delicious!
I love seafood, just probably don’t eat it enough. I have tried taking omega 3 fish oil and it did seem to make a difference for my mental focus. I already knew the heart benefits of it. I do find it hard to take supplements since I don’t really take in any medications.
I love fish too! I don’t eat it enough though. I’m so used to buying other things. But I think maybe eating more fish will make me feel better than other meats like beef.
I really thought this video was useful, it’s good to know that you need some trans fat, but not as much. Also, saturated fat isn’t really good for you either. The lady mentioned not to eat cheese or what not. That is very hard for me because I really love cheese.
Olive oil is very healthy and I enjoy my salads with it.
I enjoy olive oil with my salads as well! Very delicious! They say olive oil is the “holy grail” of oils.
Olive oil is a great and healthy food to enjoy! My interest for olive oil was so much greater after I visited Italy and saw just how important olives are to them.
Trans fats are so hard to avoid!
Couldn’t agree more. I think everyone probably eats those the most, if you ask me. ^^
Agree with you there! They are freaking everywhere.
I didn’t know that omega 3 helped with joint pain. I need to start eating a lot more omega 3 rich foods.
I enjoyed the videos. It makes it easy to break down what is good fat and whats bad. Who knew you could age so quickly eating the wrong types of food? I already knew about the benefits of Omega 3. just wish I could find a supplement that didn’t leave that fish taste in your mouth
This breakdown is awesome! I really like to know where I can make changes in my diet that are pretty easy/simple yet hold such a high level of benefit.
I agree with you on that. The videos do a great job breaking everything down and making it easier to understand what we need to eat more of and/or supplements to take, so we can be healthier.
Yes these videos had great information on how and what can help make these changes.
I don’t like any kind of oily fish so I’m probably not getting enough Omega 3, but from the comments above I think I will look into taking a supplement because it not only is heart healthy, it might also help my old lady joints.
i have been taking Omega 3 supplements for years. I believe that it helps out quite a bit with a lot of things. This was pretty informative. Im glad that our eyes are opened sometimes through things just like this
I do not get any of the omegas into my diet because i don’t like any kind of fish. I know I should probably take a fish oil pill or another type of supplement, but I’d rather get my needs straight from the source and not from supplements.
I agree. I do not like fish at all. If I had to eat it I would drown it in ketchup and that was all you taste. I have a problem with the supplements because I don’t want a fish after taste.
I had always thought that all fats we bad so it was nice to see the difference between good and bad fats. Also, I never realized that fat intake could play such a role in the way that we age. I will be cutting out those bad fats in an effort to retain youth.
I find it very difficult to avoid trans fats when it is so easy for some people. It seems that most of the food in the store is bad for you. My family personally eats alot of fish and nuts.
I can relate entirely! Cooking everyday meals and preparing to eat throughout the day can put stress on you as well, but planning it out once a week should make it a little easier.
The trans-fat video helped me realize how bad chips really are. I didn’t know all this before, I will cut down on the snack chips I buy. I don’t think manufacturers should be able to put 0% trans-fat if the product has some even a very small amount. I think it is really cool omega-3s and fish oils do so many amazing times for our bodies
Did not know that eating so many bad fats were causing me to age faster! That’s really an eye opener! I gotta start cooking healthier!
that was an eye opener. who knew that bad fats could make you age that fast!
I have been taking Omega 3 supplements for years. I believe that it helps out quite a bit with a lot of things. This was pretty informative. Im glad that our eyes are opened sometimes through things just like this
The trans-fat video really helped me to realize I shouldn’t eat those Bugles anymore! I never realized that what I eat can actually effect the cells in my body and cause me to age faster. That was very informational.
These videos are helpful to me because I have always struggled with this type of stuff. I still havent gotten it all figured out but I need more omegga in my diet that is for sure.
These were very helpful. It is hard to tell which fats are good and which are bad. The third video was very helpful for me because my cousin was in a wreck recently and needed a skin graph and they have done two already and they have both rejected so now I know what will help the skin graph stay in place. I am glad that I saw thhis video but I wish I would have seen it sooner. It is amazing what some fats can do and help and how bad some fats can be.
This video was very interesting and had a lot of good tips about fats
All three of the videos were very helpful. Seeing as how i love fish of all types, i thought i was getting the omegas i needed. but ast it stated in the video i was destroying the nutrients by frying. good information.
I know omega 3’s are essential, but does any one know anything about krill oil?
I didn’t realize that omega 3 helped with so many issues. I also didn’t about all the different types of oils to cook with. I will keep this in mind!
Me either, it is pretty cool that omega 3 help with so many issues in the human body.
I incorporate flax with my daily spinach smoothies. I enjoy most seafood, but my wife hates it. If you having trouble coming to terms with the taste of seafood, I can offer a few points of advice. The first is to try different sources. The quality has a lot to do with the taste. The second point also works with many bitter vegetables. Add a spicy Cajun seasoning such as Tony Chachere’s or a blackened seasoning. If you can handle the spice, it covers up the less desirable flavors, but does add sodium.
That’s a helpful idea. I don’t mind eating fish. Actually, I love it. However, sometimes it is a bit too expensive for my budget. Flax in a smoothy seems like a viable method of getting more Omega 3’s into my diet.
Before nutrition, I just thought fat was fat and it was all bad. I learned that there are both good and bad fats. Fats in general are usually the affect and main cause of heart disease. Healthy fats however can reduce heart disease. So there is some good in fat intake.
I agree I also thought that fat was just fat and that it was all bad for you but know after watching this video I know better
I also thought that fats were just fats and I believed that they were all bad. For me it will be hard to tell which are good since I did think that. I am thankful for these videos. They are very helpful.
that difference between fats was hard for me to learn as well. Its my job to know the difference between good and bad fats. I know the difference, but I choose to eat the bad fats because it was the way I was raised and lived most of my life. It is hard to switch from bad fats to good and still enjoy the taste of food
It is very important to get fats in our diet. I was amazed when she said to eat butter. I have been staying away from butter to reduce the risk of heart disease. We just got to learn which ones to stay away from and how to use them to our advantage
I didn’t realize that omega 3 fats helped with so many issues in the body. I suppose I should start adding more fish to my diet, and I need to really start reading lables on foods to look out for hidden trans fats.
I didnt know this as well. I was eating lots of fish but i was frying it. Now i know the correct way to get the full benefits of the omegas.
I noted the olive, canola, and peanut oils for cooking.
There goes some more of my favorites; potato chips and french fries.
I seldom eat fish. Looks like I need to add more to my diet.
Remember that different oils mean different smoke points. You may have to adjust cooking methods depending on the oil used. As far as seafood goes, I’ve found fresh or frozen salmon and tuna to be the best with minimal fishy flavor. Try spicy seasonings such as cayenne or red pepper to help your palate if the fishy taste is too much.
Yes, fish is very important to eat. Eating fish for your meat instead of beef, pork, or chicken all the time, is way healthier.
Same here! My husband thinks if the food isn’t fried in vegetable oil its not really food! LOL Changing his way of looking at food is my biggest struggle trying to make healthy choices for me. Very tough.
I actually knew most of this information it’s just putting it to practice all the time that makes it hard. I was raised in the south where everything taste better with a little bacon grease, if you know what i mean, but i try not to do this very much just special meals. I myself am starting on a diet Monday, I’m going to do the MyPlate plan. I think it is more sensible and fortunately I love fish and I love the healthy fats such as avacodas. Wish me luck!!
Yes Stephanie and Southern Fried Chicken and a lot of butter in pies and other pastries. I wish us both to be blessed with proper eating savy.
Goodluck! I have tried so many diets and some help but it seem the weight takes so long to lose but so easy to gain. I always end up giving up on it. I need to try harder at this kind of stuff.
I agree that this information some of us know all about. I was raised in the south to which makes it a little bit harder with our different quirks. Trying to actually eat the good, healthy fats is hard for me. I am constantly around bad ones but I just try to stop myself from eating them all the time.
Omega 3, fats (good and bad) and knowing the break down of different kinds of fats is really helpful. I like to know that cooking with these different oils is healthier because I will use it when cooking meat! Also, the partially hydrogenated fact was really interesting. I will look for that.
I used olive oil to cook with and didn’t like the taste of my food but I know now its not good for frying and great on sandwiches and salads.
I personally can’t ever tell the difference on what kind of oil my food was cooked in! I guess that could be a good thing or a bad thing..
Olive oil is good on food if you stir fry some veggies in it.
My grandma has always been a little pushy on making sure I put olive oil on my salads, and on my toast, and now I know why she loves it so much. She also loves coconut oil and uses it for everything, from her tea, to putting it on her face and in her hair.
Sometimes it’s hard to decipher “good” fats from “bad” fats. Peanut butter is a great example. I, myself am a peanut butter addict and I prefer the partially hydrogenated kind such as peter pan and skippy over the “natural” kind because of the texture. This is bad though. You want to avoid foods that are partially hydrogenated or any “fat’ that is solid at room temperature. That’s something very important to remember. If it’s a fat and it’s solid at room temperature, you may want to skip it. Even though nuts have TONS of good fats, you need to watch your intake of them because they are VERY high in calories. Fish and skinned poultry is a fantastic way to go to get good fats in to your diet. They have omega 3 fatty acids which help aid in blood circulation and heart health. Avocados are also a great source of “good” fat and the oils in them make your hair, skin, and nails strong, healthy, shiny, and beautiful! So that’s a plus. I actually have a face mask recipe that has avocado and honey in it and the results are amazing. It has been ruled out now that real butter is actually better for you than margarine but there are spreads out there that are made with soybean and olive oils and taste great. If cooking, always try to avoid vegetable oil. I use olive oil and peanut oil. Canola oil is good too if you don’t want to spend too much money. I too take fish oil but it’s always better to get your vitamins and nutrients from the foods you eat because that’s the way nature intended it.
I agree with you some hydrogenated fats do taste better, though they are not healthy for our cholesterol.
I was very interested in the omega 3 information on all the benefits. I might actually go get some supplements of this, it has so many good things for your health.
Your comment was very helpful. I enjoyed that you elborated further on the video and also included several of your own tips. Thanks!
great tips-true hydro fat does taste better because I try going the natural route with peanut butter- just didn’t do it for me because the texture was off putting for me
What about Reese’s? (kidding, but they are my achilles heal of junk food) My wife and I have switched over to olive oil for nearly everything. Interesting side note, though, since she had her gallbladder out, avocados are something she absolutely cannot eat.
I personally take omega 3 supplements and it really helps with knee and shoulder pain before and after a workout.
My daughter has elbow pain. I will suggest these Omega 3 supplements. Thank you.
I have really bad knee pains since I ran cross-country in high school. I am going to try Omega 3 supplements since I don’t like to take Aleve or Advil every day.
Thanks.
I have always heard about the benefits of Omega 3 but its so nice to hear that it actually works. My father has RA and this could be a great idea for him. Thanks so much!
I have shoulder pain and knee pain from softball and working out. I’ve never thought to take omega 3 supplements for it. Maybe I’ll try that and see if it works!
I’ve always heard the Omega 3 Fatty Acids are good fats for your body, but I thought that fish was the only source from which one could attain these. It was helpful to find out the non-fish sources like flax, nuts, and seeds all contain these fatty acids. Also, I didn’t realize that canola oil was classified as a pesticide. I’ll probably stop using it when I pop popcorn.
I didn’t know that Omega 3 oil can help pain in joints! How cool! I have terrible joints. Thanks for the tip!
Didn’t know either. Will have to recommend it to my parents.
Me neither. I’m going to get after that. It’s good for our hearts, too!
I will definitely have to try that out, my joints ache all the time!
I had joint pain in high school, and my health teacher suggested that I eat more foods with Omega 3 Fatty Acids. I was skeptical, but I tried it, and it really worked and helped me out a lot! It is amazing what food can do for us!
As do I, I’m definitely going to be using more Omega 3 from now on. And who knew coconut milk was so similar to plasma AND breast milk?! Very insightful video.
I am going to try eating more fish and taking Omega 3 supplements to see if it will help my shoulder pain. This could be game changing.
I take the Omega 3 and fish oil every day, I had no idea of some of these benefits. I took it more for the cardiovascular ones.
I take fish oil daily as well, but it gave me acid. I ended up having to freeze my capsules to help with my acid.
That was interesting about the omega 3. I’m going to start taking it for pain
